ELDERS
Jeff Custer
Jeff and Suzanne Custer have been members at Chesmont since 2023. Their relationship with the congregation extends over decades. Their children attended CCS and Suzanne was a teacher. Jeff has preached for churches throughout the country. He previously served for 17 years as minister at the Fort Walton Beach Church of Christ and 15 years as minister and elder at the Shillington Church of Christ. Jeff and Suzanne served as missionaries in Brazil for ten years and Jeff was a visiting missionary professor at Harding University in 1990-1991. Their greatest joy has been to serve Christ and to raise five wonderful children, one of whom is Nicki Niehls, wife of Daniel Niehls.
Josh Dove
Josh and Doji Dove have been serving the Pottstown area for 26 years. Josh is a mathematics teacher at Coventry Christian Schools. At Coventry, he enjoys working with the community there by teaching, coaching and working with like-minded Christian educators. Josh uses the same enthusiasm to serve the family at Chesmont. Josh and Doji have three wonderful children; Julianne, Ethan and Daniel. Chesmont has been an integral part of helping the Dove family to grow.
Rick Elam
Rick and Kathy Elam are originally from Amarillo, Texas, and they have worshipped at Chesmont since 1996. Rick has served in various roles, including teaching, volunteering at Camp Manatawny, facilitating the Grace Marriage ministry and participating in the Legacy Builders small group. Rick has been a Deacon and currently serves as an elder. Rick loves the Chesmont family for many reasons but has always been drawn to the congregation’s strong desire to serve others, to give generously and most importantly for how they love God.
Outside of Chesmont, Rick retired in 2022 after a 38-year career with Vanguard. Rick serves on the Board of Directors for the Herald of Truth and works with Cooper Eagle, LLC. Rick and Kathy enjoy RV camping, hiking, kayaking and fishing.

Thomas Wise
Minister
Thomas has a Preaching Certificate from the Florida School of Preaching, a BS degree in Biblical Studies from Freed-Hardeman University, and is working to complete his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. He has ten years of preaching experience in three different congregations, most recently with the Lemon Bay Church of Christ in Englewood, FL. He is married with three beautiful children.
Sarah Lohr
Children's Ministry Director
I was blessed to grow up in a large family of believers who ensured that we knew and felt the love of God everyday. I attended Chesmont Church of Christ throughout my childhood, and my family has been attending since we moved back to PA in 2012. I graduated from Lipscomb University, where I met my husband Joe, and went on to receive my masters degree from Arcadia University in 2010.
I worked for 12 years as a Physician Assistant, and am currently teaching at Coventry Christian Schools. I have been the Children's Ministry Director at Chesmont since 2021. I have always loved working with children and feel very fortunate to get to share the love of Jesus with them everyday! It is amazing to see their faces light up when they talk about God, and I think that we can learn so much from our kids. My husband Joe and I have 5 children - Bayley, Ellie, Jack, Maverick and Leo.
